Last May marked my parents’ twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, for which they planned an amazing tour of Italy. To celebrate, me and my brothers and sister orchestrated a surprise Italian-themed dinner for the family and close friends at our home. This was, of course, the perfect opportunity for me to design a system of invitations, menus, tags, and decorations with an Italian feel. Our drink (Bevandi) menu was quite impressive, complete with traditional Bellinis (an Italian peach-liquor drink) and Lemoncello (for just before dessert). The Bellinis stole the show. The menus to follow, Antipasti, Insalate, Pasto, and Piatto Principale reflect the traditional order of courses for an Italian meal. Coincidentally, my brother-in-law is a sous-chef for a small family-owned Italian restaurant, so he graciously cooked an amazing meal for about forty people. Take a gander at the menus and let your taste buds imagine! The invitations were inspired by old menus from Italian restaurants, with a matte-on-luster paper combination which looked stunning!
